Sidney Sugars Incorporated, located in Sidney, MT, a subsidiary of American Crystal Sugar Company, currently has an opening for an Agriculturalist.  The purpose of this position is to provide agronomic expertise to growers in the production of a high quality beet crop that increases the recoverable sugar per acre. Manage harvest operations and beet storage for assigned areas.  Manage grower relationships within corporate guidelines to attract and retain sugar beet growers.

 

The principal accountabilities of this position include:


Make recommendations to assist growers in the production of a high quality beet crop with an increase in recoverable sugar and minimal production costs.  

Maintain Agriculture Reporting System to ensure appropriate information is available for decision making purposes. 

Maintain current knowledge of new research and technological changes to ensure growers receive up-to-date information on sugar beet agriculture.  

Assist in the implementation of new technology in crop production. 

Assist growers with harvest equipment and improved harvest techniques to maximize sugar recovery per acre.  

Effectively manage receiving stations, supervise harvest crews, and ensure compliance with Company policies during harvest.  

Promote beet seed variety selection to growers to contribute to the profitability of SSI.


 

Knowledge and Experience:
To be successful in this position requires an agri-business background typically gained through the completion of a degree in Agronomy, Ag Economics or a related field with two to three years of experience. Effective oral and written communications skills, supervisory skills and the ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with growers are also required. A valid driver’s license is required.  CCA certification preferred.

Develop, implement and test emergency response plans and keep them current.

Liaison with all functional areas within the company to assure Safety, Security, Physical and Environmental and asset conservation issues are fully understood and executed.

Assure HSE record keeping system provides timely reporting to both internal and to external agencies.

Manage HSE projects and programs in a cost-effective manner.

Participate as an auditor in the Corporate HSE audit program.

Attend training and seminars necessary to maintain proficiency in EHS/HSE/SHE skills and knowledge.


Job Requirements

HSE - Health, Safety, Environmental and Risk Manager for Metal Manufacturing

 


Bachelors Degree, Occupational Health & Safety major preferred, however BS in Engineering or Business related discipline will be acceptable with the proper experience.

Certified Safety Professional (CSP) is desirable.

Minimum five years manufacturing environment experience, preferably as an HSE Manager or HSE Director or leading Environmental and Safety effort in a metallic, steel or heavy industry in a safety capacity.

Expert knowledge of OSHA, EPA & NFPA requirements and local and state regulations are a must.

Duties and responsibilities include:

•  Knowledge and experience in all phases of workover and completion work.
•  Ability to follow procedures and policies of Denbury's operations and engineering staff.
•  Knowledge of cementing, electric line and slick line, coiled tubing services, snubbing, stimulation and fracturing.
•  Must be able to coordinate Workover and completion equipment acquisition.
•  Ability to bid and document equipment and services.
•  Be able to enter daily Workover information and costs into computer system.
•  Communicate with Workover Superintendent and engineering staff.
•  Check and approve invoices for accuracy of pricing.
•  Handle all day to day field and job site supervision.

Job Overview

Creates and edits engineering masters. Manages drafting of all required documentation for manufacturing and procurement. Supports shop floor activities by providing technical information and manufacturing sequences / procedures as required for manufacturing engineering and production.
Evaluates ECRs and ECNs, making revisions to critical engineering database as required.
Provides technical support to customers concerning new products and repairs.
Works on special complex projects for design, modification, or implementation of controls and components.

·         Works with the production and test personnel to ensure that all controls and components pass the required tests.

·         Customers:  Provides support via phone, e-mail, and on-site visitation.

This position will interface regularly with multiple departments, including production, shipping, customer service, purchasing, and sales. Starting salary of $50,000 per year doe.  Responsibilities Include:Planning and scheduling swing shift packaging department workload to ensure timely completion of projects.Participating in monthly inventory to ensure accuracy of finished goods count.Effectively communicate goals and objectives of the Company and the department in and effort to motivate/engage employees and build accountability.Supervising 30-60 temporary and regular employees, adjusting staffing levels, rotating workers, monitoring line efficiencies and adjusting processes to maximize quality and productivity.Coaching employees on performance and development.  Training, motivating, and rewarding employee performance.Identifying and resolving employee issues as required.Monitoring equipment efficiencies, troubleshooting issues, and making necessary adjustments to maximize output.Practicing and enforcing Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), quality, safety, and food safety policies and ensuring that sanitation goals are met. Skills and Qualifications:Minimum of 2-5 years of proven supervisory experience in manufacturing and packaging required.Experience managing complex packaging projects with multiple components required; experience in food packaging and/or food safety a plus.Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential.Experience with Lean Manufacturing Principles is desired.Machine maintenance or maintenance technician experience is a plus.Ability to multi-task in a fast paces environment and rapidly change direction as business needs require.Solid computer skills needed to include MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.Don't miss out on this Great Opportunity!  Click the "Apply Now" button or email your resume and cover letter to 1550@kellyservices.com

Checks proofs, makes operating adjustments and visually checks work during run for color, register and impression to meet quality specifications per standard practice.
